Multi award-winning World Press Photo recipient
Andrew was born in London, England in 1965. He began his career in the early 1990s working as a freelance for the Guardian and Observer newspapers. Throughout the decade he documented the growing Environmental Protest and Animal Rights movements. In 1999 he shifted his attention to the Balkans covering the war in Kosovo and its aftermath in the region. At the end of 1999 he moved to Kosovo, which he used as a base to cover events throughout Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. After five years in the Balkans and a further five in the US, Andrew returned to the UK and has spent much of the last decade covering Brexit and its fallout across the UK and Ireland. He is a regular contributor to the New York Times and the Sunday Times Magazine. His work has been recognised both internationally and at home, including awards from World Press Photo, Pictures of the Year International, Amnesty International, NPPA Best of Photojournalism and Days Japan.
